Spring

Last week, Spring decided to show up. Flowers are blooming, grass is sprouting, trees are budding, and walkers have returned to Main Street. It's one of my favorite times of the year. One of my absolute favorite moments of the year is when you look out and realize that our landscape is now covered in green.

As Spring sprouts, the City of Cherryvale is now embarking on a interactive digital forum of communication. Over the next few weeks, we will post more information on our blog and we invite you to comment on our posts. We want to hear what you have to say!

The days are long over when the only way to give your opinion is at a council meeting, letter to the editor, or the coffee shop.

I will start off by asking, what do you want the city to accomplish in the next year? And more importantly how can you help us achieve that goal?

Thanks,

Trey Cocking
City Administrator

I don't know if this is the place for it but I'm wondering how some people are paying their water bill. My Mom's increased around $20 a month. I thought we were promised a "SLIGHT" increase. $20 is a lot! I don't know how these people with families are doing it. Is GREED getting in the way of common sense thinking at City Hall now? It is all over the rest of the world, I guess it will here, too. But it is going to run more people out of town. I had high hopes that Trey was going to improve our standard of living in Cherryvale. Looks like it's going the other way. Sorry, Trey, I have to express my discontent some way. When is it going to stop?

Homiegrammy,

Please give me a call on Monday, so I can review your mother's water bill. I am very concerned about this increase, and I would like to know what is driving the increase.

A leak may be responsible for the increase and not the water rate adjustment.

Please Call Me...

2. Clean ditches gutters and culverts

3. Continue to devolep the new industrial park.

4. Continue with the positive improvements that have been started.

The city needs to look at adding more street lights. It would help to deter some of the crime in the city.

Why does the cith condone the use of main street and the sidewalks being used as car repair areas and junk storage? It looks like we dump oil and anti freeze regularly, and block the sidewalks. The whole town is starting to look like a auto salvage yard, junk cars are everywhere I thought there was an ordinance against this. On the other side the city crews are doing well.

Today is May 9th and its been a week since I posted a remark about cars blocking the sidewalk on west main at the repair shops. I still had to walk in the street today to get by. I guess this is A waste of time.

hey Trey, Can you post where the tornado shelters are located. I think the siren has a warning and an all clear signal, but I forget which is what. Thanks Patti
